Blackjack Switch Rules

Blackjack Switch, played with 6 decks, is in many ways similar to the original game of 21, but there are a few special reasons that can explain its huge status amongst online gamers.

  • Players get two hands and can “switch” the second cards if they’d like. This is a great way to create more winning hands.
  • It puts a new spin on the old.
  • It’s easy to learn and uncomplicated.
  • Players play against the dealer, no need for posturing and bluffing.

Blackjack Switch is fairly similar to the Blackjack you know and love. Card values are the same, but there are a few basic variations. In Blackjack Switch, players are dealt two hands, and can switch the top card between them before they have been hit, in order to create better hands.

In addition, Blackjack Switch rules state that the dealer always hits on a soft 17 and pushes on 22 – except that Blackjack still wins the hand. Dealers also peek at their cards if there is an Ace or a 10-value card showing. If Blackjack exists –and the player doesn’t also have Blackjack – then the round is automatically over and the dealer wins.

How to Play Blackjack Switch

Playing Blackjack Switch is easy. Your goal is to build a hand that is closer to the magic number of 21 than the dealer. To play, simply:

  1. Choose your wager. Click on a chip and then the betting area. Each click adds another chip to the table. The larger betting areas are for normal bets; in Blackjack Switch, this means two identical wagers, one for each hand. The Super Match is the smaller area.
  2. Once your bets have been placed, click on the Deal button.
  3. If you would like to Switch, do so when you have been dealt only two cards in each hand.
  4. As you play, click on the special betting buttons (Split, Double, Hit, Stand, etc.) as needed. Some actions are really side bets, such as Insurance, Split and Double, and these require additional monies being wagered.
  5. The results of the game are then displayed. If you have won you will be paid according to your hand’s strength.
  6. Hit New Game if you would lie to play another round and then Deal to get the cards rolling. If you will be making the exact same initial bet, click on Rebet.

Betting Options

Once you begin playing Blackjack Switch, you’ll see how the various options add so much to the game. Here are some descriptions to get you started.

When you place your initial bet, you can place it in two different betting areas: the normal area and the smaller circular “Super Match” area. Placing a bet in the normal area puts the same amount on your two hands. In the Super Match area, you are placing an optional wager that your first four cards will contain at least 2 cards that are the same, such as a pair of sixes or three Queens.

Hit says you would like another card, and Stand means you are staying where you are, that you don’t want another card. Double means you are doubling your bet and you get a third card. Insurance is used when you want protection in case the dealer has Blackjack. Switch (the option exclusive to this game) lets you exchange the top two cards in your two hands with each other. Use Split when you would like to split one hand into two hands.
